Dodged a deer, did a 180, ran into concrete barrier (rear passenger side hit first), dragged passenger side, stopped on shoulder facing wrong direction. I'm fine (seeing how I'm posting and all) but the car isn't. No pics yet, I'm going to the wreckers' with Julie tomorrow to get stuff out of the car.

Yeah, I know it's kind of late, but Lexus is bringing an 8-speed transmission to market with the new LS460. Holy crap, that's awesome ... I don't care how much "cooler" a manual transmission is, an 8-speed automatic is much cooler.

I spent the New Year at Julie's ... she wasn't feeling too good so we stayed in, which was fine as we didn't have any real plans for the night anyway Next year will be dfiferent. Of course, now I have to get used to the whole "06" thing.

2006 also (rumor has it) signals the end of the Toyota Solara -- the '07 model year, which starts this year, will be the last for the car. It will (again, rumor has it) get the 285HP 3.5L V6 from the Avalon and, in typical Toyota fashion, get killed off. I hope that whatever replaces it will be a worthy successor ... my Solara is by no means the fastest, most beautiful, most versatile, most spacious vehicle on the road, but damn it, it's a great car. Really sucks to see the model go this way, assuming the rumors are true.

My New Year's countdown goes to 11
